Our little guy will be 20 months old tomorrow. He sure is having fun being toddler. He's not afraid of anything. There are too many stories to tell. His favorites right now are balls, cars, airplanes, trains, and food. He loves to watch Thomas the Tank and Bob the Builder, eventhough his attention span is only about 3 minutes long.
Alex is a joy and we love him more each day. God is truly good and we are so thankful to him for our precious children.

Embassy Date
We have our date at the US Embassy in Guatemala. It is Monday, June 2nd. Scott and I will leave for Guatemala on Saturday, May 31st and return home with Alex on Wednesday, June 4th. This all seems like a dream after waiting so long for our sweet little guy.
Thanks to our many family members and friends who are helping to pray this child home.

Alex at 15 months
Alex has grown so much and learned so much since I saw him on his first birthday. He now walks and runs. He says more words and seems to understand what I am saying in English. He loves to throw things: balls, blocks, everything. He's just playing, but he sure has an arm. His Daddy will love that.
We are so eager to have him home. Daddy, Annie and Will are so ready to meet him. His room is almost ready and he has all sorts of new toys to play with. My friends are throwing a baby shower this weekend. It's so nice to have my friends and family so excited about his homecoming. Praise the Lord for our little Alexander Davis. We know we are blessed.

Isabella Faye at 9 months
Isabella Faye is the a total joy at this age. She is crawling everywhere, eating so many new foods, playing with her toys and interacting with adults and children. She was crazy about her Mommy. Thank goodness, she likes me, too. She and Alex were adorable together. I can't wait for future visits in our homes with funny Alex and sweet Isabella Faye.

Mother's Day
Spending Mother's Day with Alex, Beth, and Isabella Faye was a joy. I missed the rest of my family, but I had such a memorable time with my baby boy and our good friends. We visited Antigua on Saturday which was Mother's Day in Guatemala. On Sunday, we played and played and ate good food. We just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. Annie, Will and Scott managed to hide Mother's Day cards in my suitcase (and Necco wafers - YUM!). When I got home Monday night, there was a new bench in the front garden. It's exactly what I have been asking for. It was a great day that I will always treasure.

Another Baby's Coming Home
Our friends, Stacy and Mark Gabbard, are bringing little Raelyn home. She's out of PGN and should be coming home to her two big brothers in 4-6 weeks. Praise the Lord for this family being united. Raelyn is a beautiful little baby and will be so happy to be with her Mommy and Daddy again. They live in KY so we hope to see her soon after she comes home. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Guatemala and she came to Alex's birthday party.

I MISS ALEX
I have been so lonely for Alex the past few days. I miss his little smile and his sparkling eyes. I miss playing with him and reading to him. I have an overwhelming need to hold him and tell him how much I love him. I want this aching to end and I am pleading with God to give me the strength to endure it.

The Original Monkeys
Annie and Will are our precious twins adopted from Guatemala in 2002. Each and every day with them brings new memories and lessons learned. They are full of questions, energy and personality. Each is so different. We marvel at Will's mechanical mind and interest in all things scientific. He is tender and tough; sweet and silly. Annie is a little fireball. She is pretty and petite, yet strong in spirit. We enjoy her imagination and sense of humor. We are ever grateful to God that he brought us such amazing children. The four of us can't wait to make Alex a part of our family. Alex will have a ball with his big brother and sister. He's a little character, too, so he'll fit right in.

Beth and Isabella Faye
Pictured is Isabella Faye and her Mommy, Beth. Beth, as Anne of Green Gables puts it, is a kindred spirit. We became soul sisters from the start. I marvel at the friendship God has bestowed upon us. Isabella Faye, at seven months, is a stunning Guatemalan princess. Actually, when she would cry to make her request known, I would say, "The Queen has spoken." Isabella Faye has the sweetest baby face. She is usually stoic in photos, but has a smile that melts your heart. I can't wait for her to come home to her Mommy and Daddy so that we can have wonderful visits together.

Photos make memories
Many thanks to Lori for capturing this beautiful moment between Alex and me (pictured horizontally below). I was on my visit trip to Guatemala for his first birthday. When I am missing him terribly, I look at this photo and dream about the time we will be together again. I also remember the fun we had trying to photograph him. He was scrambling all over the bed in Beth's hotel room. It took four of us to catch him at times.

Rocco's coming home
Good friends, Lori and Ron Radosta, will be bringing their beautiful son, Rocco, home from Guatemala next week. I can't wait to hear about their trip. Rocco is a charming baby with a sweet disposition. In no time, his Daddy will have him throwing a football. Mommy will turn him into her favorite model at her photography studio.
Best wishes to this new family as they begin their lives together as Mommy, Daddy and son.

All About Alex
Alex was born February 2, 2007 in the city of Antigua, Guatemala. He was relinquished for adoption. At three months of age, I became very interested in his photo listed on CCI's website. At four months, I showed his photo to my sister. She told me I had to show it to Scott. At five months, I showed his photo to Scott. Scott agreed that he was adorable. The night before Annie and Will's fifth birthday, I cried my eyes out because I wanted another child: ALEX. Scott told me to call Sue. I did and now we are on month nine waiting for this beautiful child to be our own.
